An Advanced Entry Scheme is available to suitably qualified applicants. Students admitted into the advanced entry scheme may receive a block credit of up to 36 UOC in Level 1 music courses. The Bachelor Media (PR & Advertising) component is structured to offer a philosophical and cultural foundation in the media studies core as well as conceptual and practical skills in public relations and advertising. This double degree provides graduates with great opportunities to work across a wide range of communication disciplines and fields.

Note: Performance lab course MUSC1707 (12 UOC) is taught as a multi-term course at 4 uoc each term.
- If you are admitted into the advanced entry scheme, you will receive a block credit of up to 36 uoc in Level 1 music courses.

Performance lab course MUSC2703 (12 UOC) is taught as a multi-term course at 4 uoc each term.

Indigenous Studies courses (ATSIxxxx) can be studied as General Education only if you are not following a minor in Indigenous Studies.

General Education Requirement

A Prescribed PR and Advertising Elective (6 UOC) is replaced with an approved General Education course to meet 6 UOC of the GE requirement. The other 6 UOC is taken by replacing a Music elective with an approved GE course. This completes the 12 UOC GE requirement.

Academic Writing & Language Enhancement
3436 - Music

ARTS2050 Academic Writing for the Humanities (6 UOC) and HUMS1005 Personalised English Language Enhancement (6 UOC) can be counted as UNSW Arts and Social Sciences Prescribed Electives or Free Electives.

Specialisation Declaration
3436 - Music

You must specify your major at the time of enrolment into Level 2.

Maturity Requirements

You must have completed 24 UOC before taking any Level 2 courses.

You must have completed 66 UOC before taking any Level 3 courses.
