Students must complete 60 UOC.

If you commence at Advanced Level you must take 12 UOC of the following courses.

Japanese Professional Studies Electives

If you commence at Advanced Level you can take up to a maximum of 18 UOC of the following courses.

If you commence at Professional Level you must take at least 12 UOC the following courses.

Minimum Professional Level Requirement

Awarding of the Advanced major in Advanced Japanese Studies is contingent upon completing 24 units of credit at the Professional level (listed below), no matter the level of entry into the major.

If you commence Professional Level with Professional Japanese B, you must complete a Professional Studies course (taught in Japanese) in place of Professional Japanese A to meet the requirements of 24 UOC at the Professional Level.

Language Studies for Commencing Mid-Year Students

If your language skills are assessed as Level A in Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced or Professional you cannot commence study until Term 1.
