Program Structure
Students must complete 96 UOC when taken as a standalone program.
The program structure includes:
- 36 UOC Disciplinary Courses
- 30 UOC Advanced Disciplinary Electives
- 12 UOC Engineering and Technical Management Electives
- 12 UOC Research Project
- 6 UOC Design Course
- 60 days of pre-approved industrial training .

Compulsory Training Component
Compulsory Industrial Training
There is a program requirement of 60 days of approved Industrial Training. Students who have already completed 60 days of relevant work experience may apply for exemption from the work experience component of Industrial Training.

Computing Requirements
All software required for coursework is provided on the computers in the School computer laboratories. Some students find it advantageous to buy their own computer and software so that they can work at home. Some external courses may require students to own their own computer with Microsoft Office or equivalent. Specialist software packages that are required for external courses will be provided as part of the course pack to students.
Award of Degrees
A student who completes the requirements for the degree shall receive at graduation a testamur for the degree of Master of Engineering.
