Description


Honours (Research) students are required to prepare a thesis of between 15,000 - 20,000 words which must be submitted by a date specified by the School and to complete two fourth year seminar courses. For details consult the School.


Learning Outcomes


Students who actively participate in and successfully complete two seminars and an Honours thesis will:
  • Develop skills in research design and strategies
  • Be critically conversant with a range of historiographical and theoretical approaches
  • Enhance their skills in transforming research and thinking into written history
  • Enhance their skills in oral presentation
  • Have an awareness of history as a profession and a community of scholars.
