Learning Outcomes

1.
Develop a thorough grounding in the physical principles from core subject areas of astronomy. Draw conclusions from these principles and evaluate work at the forefront of modern astronomical research in these contexts.
2.
Apply observational and experimental techniques in various areas of astronomy and astrophysics, from experimental design to analysing and interpreting quantitative data to make inferences about physical processes.
3.
Demonstrate an ability to read, interpret, and evaluate the astronomical concepts, ideas, and information presented in textbooks, academic journals, and data archives.
4.
Recognise and examine the interdisciplinary aspects of astronomy as it pertains to other fields, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, computer science, and mathematics.
