Specialisation Structure
48 Units of Credit:

Students must complete 48 UOC.

Prescribed Electives

Students must take 18 UOC of the following courses.

At least two (2) of these elective courses must be at level 3 (i.e. INFS3XXX). This is regardless of whether you are doing a single major or taking Information Systems as a second major.

Please note: Students may count ONE (6 UOC) of ACCT3563, COMM2222, COMM2233, COMM3020, COMM3030, COMM2101, COMM3202 or COMM3303 towards their major in Information Systems.

REQUIREMENTS: DOUBLE MAJOR ACCOUNTING & INFORMATION SYSTEMS

ACCT3563 is included for the benefit of students undertaking majors in both Accounting and Information Systems to allow compliance with the requirements of the professional Accounting bodies. Students with majors in Accounting and Information Systems may count this course towards the Information Systems major AND the Accounting major.

Certification as Business Analyst by SAS

Students who complete the following four courses will be eligible for certification as a Business Analyst by SAS.- INFS3603 Introduction to Business Analytics ( 6 UOC)- INFS3830 Social Media and Analytics (6 UOC)- INFS3873 Business Analytics Methods (6 UOC)- INFS2608 Database Management & Big Data Infrastructures (6 UOC)

Honours level study is available for Information Systems students.

Students interested in studying at Honours Level should refer to the relevant Honours stream record 4501 B Commerce (Honours) for entry requirements.
