Overview

The University Preparation Program (UPP) is an enabling program for adults aged 21 and over who either do not possess formal qualifications or whose academic qualifications do not satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission to university study. Satisfactory completion of the UPP does not guarantee admission to any specific program but can be used as evidence of recent study when applying for admission to the University. Students' total educational background, and not just their UPP results, will be taken into consideration for admission purposes.

Program Structure

Students choose one of the following specialisations and a UPP common core course, ranging from a total of 18 UOC - 42 UOC depending on their intended area of undergraduate study:

- Humanities specialisation - Suitable for programs in Arts & Social Sciences, Built Environment and Art & Design.

- Science specialisation - Suitable for programs in Science and Mathematics. 

- Business specialisation - Suitable for programs in Business. 

- Engineering specialisation- Suitable for programs in Engineering. 

Depending on which specialisation students choose, the UPP involves students completing core and elective components of study.
