Overview
This Handbook is for commencing students. If you commenced in a prior year please refer to the Online Handbook in the year you started your Law degree or contact the Faculty of Law for advice.
This double degree program provides an opportunity to obtain two degrees of professional importance to the public sector, community service, business and law practice. In addition, the student has the option to work towards a research career in a variety of disciplines.
The Bachelor of Social Science (UNSW BSocSci) degree combines a core program of skills in policy analysis and research methods with in-depth study in one or more social science disciplines. The degree requires one stream of study in an approved social science discipline and a minimum level of electives. You will have the opportunity to further develop your professional and workplace skills through an internship and career-orientated focus. The LLB component provides students with the fundamentals of law and the opportunity to complete a professional legal degree.

Students must complete 264 UOC.
Note: With the permission of the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the course teacher, undergraduate students may enrol in one or more Postgraduate courses, in a select list of approved Postgraduate Electives. Not more than half the students' total elective courses may be taken from the postgraduate offerings.
Nura-Gili Pre-Law Program
- LAWS1213 Foundations Enrichment 1 (3 UOC)
- LAWS1214 Foundations Enrichment 2 (3 UOC)
These courses are taken in place of 6 UOC of electives and are not available to other students.
Specialisation Requirements
Note on external streams:
*Human Resource Management, *International Business, and *Marketing. Students who choose any of these specialisations are required to complete 12 UOC of Prescribed Arts & Social Sciences Electives.
