Program Structure54 Units of Credit:
Students must complete 54 UOC as a standalone program.
Communication and Academic Literacy Core Courses
Students must take the following courses.
These courses are requirements of the Diploma in Computer Science but no credit is granted for these courses towards the Bachelor of Computer Science Degree. The course is separated into 3 components because it is taught over 3 terms.
Core Courses
Students must take 24 UOC of the following courses.
Prescribed Electives
Students must take 24 UOC (4 courses) from the following course list.
Note: Students can only take Higher Physics 1B if they have passed Higher Physics 1A or achieved a minimum of 65% in the Physics 1A course.

Academic Program Rules
1. Students must complete a minimum of 48 Units of Credit.
2. The diploma program is a full-time program. Only in exceptional circumstances, with permission of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) or their nominee, will students be permitted to enrol in the diploma program with a reduced study load.
3. Students must complete nine courses. Successful completion of a course means that a student must achieve a Pass or better in the course.
4. Students must show cause not to be discontinued from the program if they have any of the following:
- Two fails in the same course
- Not completed 50% of the Diploma within 12 months
- Not completed all nine courses within 24 months
5. Students enrolled in the Diploma will not be eligible for Program Leave except under exceptional circumstances, and with the permission of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) or their nominee.
