Double Degree Structure
216 Units of Credit:

Students must complete 216 UOC.

Bachelor of Arts (96 UOC)
1. A home major stream (60 UOC)

Optional External Minors
3409 - Arts

External Minors

If you are enrolled in a dual award program, you cannot complete a minor stream in the same Faculty as your second program of study e.g. students enrolled in the BA/BArt Theory, cannot complete an external minor in Art History and Theory.

You will need to take extra UOC over 96 UOC to meet the requirements of an external minor that is greater than 24 UOC. External majors are not available in dual programs.

MATHB2 is only available in 3961 Engineering (Honours)/Arts

Prescribed Electives
3965 - Environmental Management

Students complete up to 18 UOC of the following courses.

Please Note: Students who do not undertake the Geography Major may also use:
- GEOS2241 Peak Carbon: Climate Change and Energy Policy (6 UOC)
- GEOS2641 Urban Environments (6 UOC)
- GEOS3921 Coastal Resource Management (6 UOC)
towards their Prescribed Electives.

Arts and Social Sciences Prescribed Electives
3409 - Arts

You must complete 12 UOC of any courses offered by UNSW Arts and Social Sciences. Indigenous Studies courses (ATSIxxxx) cannot be studied as Arts and Social Sciences Prescribed Electives.

Level 2 Maturity Requirement
3965 - Environmental Management

Students must have completed 24 UOC before taking any of the following courses.

Maximum Level 1 UOC
3965 - Environmental Management

A maximum of 72 UOC of Level 1 courses can be taken throughout the entire program, including any General Education or mainstream Level 1 course taken to fulfil either the General Education or the Free Elective requirement.

Double Counting
3965 - Environmental Management

Students can only count a course once as 6 UOC towards the 120 UOC: if a course is in both the compulsory course list and within an approved Major, then additional Prescribed Electives must be taken so that the compulsory courses, approved Major and Prescribed Electives totals 120 UOC.

Major Declaration

The approved Major must be declared before enrolling in level II courses. Double Majors

Double majors are not available in Dual mode.

Maturity Requirements
3409 - Arts

You must have completed 24 UOC before taking any Level 2 courses.You must have completed 48 UOC, including 6 UOC at Level 1 and 6 UOC at Level 2 in your major/minor before taking any Level 3 courses.

Specialisation Declaration
3409 - Arts

You must specify your major and minor at the time of enrolment in Level 2 courses.
