In this course, we will look to understand waves, fluid dynamics, and understand the different behaviours of waves that are possible in fluids. Our questions are, perhaps surprisingly, all related to wave behaviour in fluids. We will examine ocean-wave energy conversion, acoustics, and medical applications of ultrasound microbubble contrast agents.
This course is designed to evoke your curiosity and cultivate a sense of motivation to foster your success in the course.
As we explore real world problems, we will develop idealized representations of these problems before we analyze them to find solutions. Importantly, these techniques are broadly applicable in many areas of academia, defence, and industry.
