This is a foundational course designed to equip students with an introduction to concepts of engineering practice. The workshop practice component of the course will provide engineering students with basic hand tool competencies and other familiarity that will be called upon in future courses. This course will be followed in Semester 2 by ZEIT1501 which will address further CAD modelling, provide an introduction to manufacturing and develop machine tool competency. These two courses then provide the foundation for the sequence of subsequent design courses beginning with ZEIT2501 which engages students in the International “Warman Design and Build Competition”.
