Overview

In this course, you will learn how architectural space is configured and refined for use through the study of selected canonical buildings in their conceptualisation, architectural thematisation, spatial figuration, as well as the logic of material and structural expression. Site condition and material limits are introduced to the design process. The architectural relations between interior and exterior are established according to the use, circulation and room types; the development of the project within constraints and possibilities of construction techniques; and the site conditions. You will gain skills in design aided by basic digital fabrication.
