This course suits individuals looking to build their strategic abilities in entrepreneurship. It provides exposure to both the fundamentals of business innovation and the practical aspects of identifying, evaluating, and implementing new business ideas. Three methodologies of entrepreneurship will be covered in this course: design thinking, transformative innovation, and lean start-up. The course has four main sections: The first part of the course explores the theory of entrepreneurship in the 21st Century. The second part of the course explores design thinking and resilient entrepreneurship: from opportunity identification to the business model. The third part of the course examines how to plan and grow entrepreneurial ventures. The last part of the course will give attention to financial matters for entrepreneurial ventures. After completing this course, students will have a good understanding of all stages of the entrepreneurial process including: opportunity identification, developing a business plan, launching a new venture and growing a venture. Understanding what makes entrepreneurship and innovation work is paramount to future entrepreneurial success.
