Overview

This course builds on students’ existing background in analytical chemistry to develop both theory and practice relating to the latest analytical techniques used in industry and research. This course covers method validation and quality assurance in the analytical chemistry laboratory; and for selected major techniques, method development, theory, operation, instrumentation … For more content click the Read More button below. This course is lab focused with two 3-hour lab classes each week in which students will obtain hands-on experience using state-of-the art instruments, as well as 2 hours of lectures/workshops. Thus, the course strongly emphasises employability in both industry, government and academia. NOTE: This course is offered to undergraduate students wishing to specialize in analytical chemistry and to postgraduate students wishing to improve their analytical skills. Postgraduate coursework students wishing to enrol in this course should contact the School of Chemistry for advice to arrange enrolment.
