Overview

In this course you will engage with the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework to investigate and test principles and concepts of sustainable development and design. To progress the significant ambitions of the UN SDGs, you will embark on a collaborative research and design process that draws on the knowledge of many disciplines. You will employ a range of digital tools, including artificial intelligence, to prepare a conceptual design proposal for a real-world challenge in a specific urban environment. Your proposal will draw on the abundance of information and tools available and produce an ambitious response to the challenges outlined in the UN SDGs.

There are no conditions of enrollment. All student from BE can register

The course is organised on the basis of 14 hours load per week. It consists of two parts:

1) five weeks lectures (3 hours/week), labs (3 hours/week) and 8 hours self-study

2) five weeks collaborative work within a studio (8 hours/week) and 6 hours self-study

The students are expected to have discipline specific understanding of sustainable design, digital tools for spatial

modelling as well as general information about maps and geographical systems.
