This course fits in the design stream for mechanical engineering. It follows on from ZEIT1501 Engineering Practice and Design and ZEIT2501 Mechanical and Electronic Design. It is followed by ZEIT4700 Mechanical Design 2. This 6-unit course is divided into three parts: Design (40%), Component Design (35%) and CAD (CATIA) (25%). Lectures, Studio sessions and Labs will be used throughout the session to cover the above aspects.
