This course provides a comprehensive introduction to global environmental security. It considers the sources and consequences of major environmental threats and risks such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and competition for natural resources, and analyses their geopolitical, human security, military and ecological implications. It has a dual frame that introduces conceptual approaches and debates about security and the Anthropocene, along with the challenge of framing national policy and global governance responses.
