This course is intended to develop the capability and requisite skills of an engineer to build a foundation of knowledge related to a ventilation problems and design issues with underground mines.
This course is concerned with advanced aspects of metalliferous and coal mine underground ventilation practice and environmental control. In addition to taking topics covered in the core Mine Ventilation course to a more advanced level, emphasis is also placed on operational aspects such as controlling complex mine ventilation networks and planning ventilation requirements to manage both safety and business related risks.
This course is intended to focus on prevailing industry priorities and to develop relevant practical skills by using real mine design data, provided by various mining companies, together with undertaking ventilation surveys in operating mines.
