Engineers are increasingly working alongside clinical colleagues to solve complex health related problems. As advances are made in biomedical technology the need for mechanical engineers with a good understanding of medical principles grows. In this course, we focus on the application of fluid mechanics principles to medical problems.

A problem based learning approach will be used, with design, analysis and testing of a device conducted during the course.

CFD and benchtop testing will be conducted, with group work and links to clinical and industrial organizations.
