Handbook

This course provides all commencing higher degree research (HDR) students in the Faculty of Science a comprehensive and integrated induction as they begin their research training degree.

The course is designed to introduce students to the core principles of scientific research, to develop their science communication skills and provide them with essential skills for a smooth progression to the second year of their research program.

Students will engage in several intensive days across the Term. Through a series of lectures, workshops, and online training modules, students will have the opportunity to engage with peers and relevant research support teams within the Science Faculty and UNSW Sydney. Successful completion of this course is also dependent on completion of any/all local (School-based) inductions relevant to their project or discipline.

Note: This course is specifically developed for students undertaking a MPhil degree in the Science Faculty at UNSW.
