There is a particular focus on the environment. All students will acquire Carbon Literacy, and a clear understanding of the Climate Science and Science-based Targets that every leader needs to know in order to help mitigate climate change and contribute meaningfully to strategies for adaptation and resilience in their organisations. We explore the broader impacts of business on nature, including biodiversity and species loss, and examine insights into the emerging field of Nature Positive Solutions. Students will be equipped with the skills to measure an organisation’s environmental and social footprint, carry out a materiality analysis and prioritisation, and develop appropriate initiatives and strategies. Students will also learn about the social responsibilities of business, including concepts of stakeholder capitalism, shared value and social value, and best practice in working with communities. The most pressing issues for business are explored, such as EDI, Modern Slavery and social impacts of climate change. The concepts of Sustainable Value Creation and Net Positive Growth are embedded throughout this specialisation, providing an understanding of how we can identify and capture the opportunities that sustainability brings for innovation and value creation. This includes opportunities to develop a more sustainable business model, including a clear vision for sustainable growth. It will help students to become more valuable leaders for their organisation and society. They will complete this course with a more sustainable mindset and a sustainability toolkit that they can apply immediately in their organisation and in their life.

Apply sustainability principles to evaluate strategies and business models and identify opportunities for improvement.

Implement Business Model Innovation for social and environmental sustainability and understand how to develop sustainable value chains that are circular and regenerative.
