MINEZS is a 72 UOC stream in the Masters of Mine Geotechnical Engineering (8059).
The specialist training is offered on a part-time only basis to industry personnel who have access to an underground coal mine and who satisfy the program entry requirements.

NOTE:Some electives may only be offered every two years.This program does not have CRICOS registration; it is not available for study on a Student Visa.This program will be open for admission in every even year (eg. 2022, 2024, 2026)
Learning Outcomes

Use specialised knowledge of geotechnical engineering practices for open cut coal mining from feasibility assessment to operations.

Recognise & design elements of advanced geotechnical engineering designs and applications.

Demonstrate in-depth and broad understanding of the specialised body of knowledge of mining engineering.

Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork through research of industry examples and presentation of solutions.

This may include ongoing access agreed with their past employer, or access to an alternate site or site database being arranged. As such, there is no requirement for the students to have to change streams or programs on this account.
