This stream is suitable for students who prefer maximum flexibility in the courses they select, and it is the default plan for all new enrolments in the program.
The aim of this stream is to provide students with a broad-based IT education, enabling them to work in a range of positions in the IT industry.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Evaluate advanced concepts, theories, and techniques, relevant to an information technology specialisation, including recent developments in theory and/or professional practice.
2.
Identify the potential impacts of international information technology practice and global operating contexts on theory and professional practice.
3.
Apply research principles and enquiry-based techniques to plan and execute a substantial research-based project, piece of scholarship, and/or professional practice project.
4.
Identify, define, investigate, and analyse the computing aspects of complex engineering problems, in a variety of different and/or unfamiliar contexts.
5.
Synthesise and evaluate algorithmic knowledge to develop effective and innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
6.
Interpret and communicate complex theoretical concepts, and justify professional decisions to other professionals, clients, stakeholders and the broader community.
7.
Exercise ethical and professional judgements with appreciation of the potential impact of decisions and/or solutions in global, economic, environmental and/or societal contexts.
8.
Collaborate and lead effectively in diverse professional contexts.

Evaluate and explain the impact of information technology on professional practice and/or scholarship.
