Advanced Disciplinary Knowledge Core Courses

Students must take 18 UOC of the following courses.
Note: GSOE9740 requires prerequisite knowledge about life cycle assessment (LCA). This knowledge is provided by GSOE9340, CVEN9892 and SOLA9015, however, other LCA courses with equivalent content can be counted as prerequisite upon approval by the program authority.

Disciplinary Knowledge Core Course

Students must take 6 UOC of the following courses.

Research Courses

Students must take 18 UOC of the following courses.
Note: Students may substitute GSOE9220 Launching a Startup (6 UOC) for GSOE9010 if they have advanced standing for their undergraduate research project.

Sustainability Mgmt & Frameworks Electives

Students take up to 24 UOC of the following courses.

Note: Students may choose any course for which they are eligible to enrol, as electives, including any Advanced Disciplinary and Disciplinary courses listed.

Additional Information

Advanced Standing

A student may apply for credit towards the program as per the UNSW Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Procedures. Students with a four-year honours degree where a thesis was completed can be exempt from up to 48 UOC of courses which include disciplinary courses, enquiry-based courses and elective courses. For students without a thesis in their undergraduate program, 18 UOC of enquiry need to be completed, independent of their WAM average through the program.
