In today’s world, quantitative skills are essential for managers and analysts in every industry. These skills are particularly important for those within the aviation and transport fields, as modelling historical data, understanding trends and drivers, and forecasting are crucial preconditions for success.

Quantitative Analysis in Aviation Economics is a fully online postgraduate course that offers an insight into how to conduct empirical research in aviation. The course focuses on the application of quantitative methods in aviation, and provides students with a fundamental understanding of the quantitative skills and techniques applied in the aviation industry. This course implements an applied teaching approach, requiring students to use real world datasets to conduct applied quantitative analysis to provide students with the ability to grasp and understand contemporary issues. Students will be given the opportunity to use real world data to conduct analyses via the use of an efficient and widely-used econometrics software package. This course is encouraged for those students undertaking AVIA5020 who wish to complete a research project involving quantitative analysis. Moreover, this course will provide students with the skills to empirically test some of the concepts taught in AVIA5030.
