Contracts are an essential part of the daily conduct of business. In this course students will examine key elements of contract law and practice, including how and when contracts are formed, terms (express and implied), performance, what happens when contracts are breached, how they can be terminated, and remedies.

Focusing on agreements in a commercial context, this course also explores the relationship between regulation and contractual freedom, and the interplay between contract law and related forms of legal obligation.

Through exposure to case law and legislation, students will develop an understanding of sources of law and how to interpret primary legal materials. Students will also be guided to develop legal reasoning, and in the application of legal principles to fact scenarios.

The course will be delivered online through asynchronous modules, online forums and synchronous online classes.
