This course will provide students with advanced disciplinary knowledge in the field of cognitive psychology, examining the theoretical basis of how we think. The course will cover key concepts including, attention, memory, judgement and decision making. The course will provide students with an advanced understanding of the theories and models used in this area. The course will focus on contemporary issues such as misinformation, climate change and decision making in the modern world. Students will develop the skills required to critically evaluate the theories and models used to explain the behaviour associated with these areas of cognition. Students will learn to apply this knowledge to a wider community context. Students will gain advanced knowledge in cognitive psychology, via a combination of online instructional videos and activities and small-group seminars. This course is taught entirely online.
