Handbook

This course covers the use of advanced econometric methods that are useful to conduct empirical research in applied microeconomics and related fields. In particular, we will cover recent developments in widely used research designs that economists have applied to estimate causal effects. We will also cover complementary designs and methods in research seeking to estimate causal effects in program evaluations. We will illustrate and discuss the use of these methods using studies from a broad range of areas including from labour, development, and political economy, education, and health.  The course will equip students with the necessary knowledge to be able to conduct research  using updated micro-econometrics methods  and to be informed consumers of such research.
