This course exposes students to research methods in applying data science and decisions techniques to a research project. The project courses serve as capstone courses in the Master of Data Science and Decisions program. Students will be required to apply and demonstrate their learning from the courses in the program. It also requires students to present their work in visual and verbal forms including a presentation.

The Data science and decisions project course is done over two terms under the course code DATA5011 and DATA5012. The assessment is a final report which is worth 80% and a presentation worth 20%. The project report is due at the end of DATA5012 and presentation is held at the end of DATA5012. Therefore there is no formal assessment while the student is enrolled in DATA5011.

Conditions for Enrolment

Must be enrolled in 8959

Prerequisite: DATA5011

Additional Enrolment Constraints

A WAM of greater than 85 is recommended for DATA5011/5012. Students seeking to enrol into a DATA5011/5012 project are required to have the approval of the Director of Postgraduate Studies.
