Overview

It is often said that people are an organisation's greatest resource. This course introduces you to the policies and practices that organisations use to ensure that they are making the most effective use of their human resources to drive organisational performance. It focusses in particular on the role of the human resource management function in achieving these outcomes, the different forms that it takes across organisations and the changing nature of the HR function in contemporary organisations. In doing so, it provides an overview of the employment cycle and the contribution that effective HR policies and practices can make to each stage in this cycle.
