Handbook

This course reconceptualises obligations for ensuring the health and safety of workers by helping students shift their attention from ‘work health and safety’ to ‘safe and healthy work’.  Case studies will help students explore how WHS theories, principles and performance measures can be integrated into the processes and information systems that support strategic and operational decision-making by business leaders. Topics will include understanding the due diligence obligations of business leaders; recognising WHS risk within complex organisational systems; defining and evaluating WHS performance; supporting effective decision-making; and assurance and verification of safe and healthy work. The course aims to develop capability for recognising and delivering solutions that achieve dual financial and non-financial objectives.
