This course assumes an understanding of intellectual property law. Students should have prior knowledge of black letter copyright, patent, trademarks and designs law, whether through undergraduate study, postgraduate study (eg. LAWS8017 Intellectual Property Law) or work in intellectual property law in Australia or overseas. Students who do not hold an LLB/JD or equivalent should take the LLM foundations course LAWS8213 Legal Concepts, Research and Writing before or concurrently with this course.
