Overview

Information systems and technology (IS/IT) innovation drives the initiatives that fuel digital transformation, enabling organisations to fundamentally change their operations and deliver enhanced value to customers through new and improved digital products, services, or processes. This course provides you with a comprehensive understanding of this IS/IT enabled innovation process through insights into current innovation models, strategies, and frameworks, with a particular focus on emerging information technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). You will learn about IS/IT innovations' unique characteristics and industry dynamics, focusing on how emerging information technologies such as generative AI, cloud computing and digital platform-based business models create new opportunities. You will also learn to analyse various digital innovation sources, types, and patterns and collaborate in teams to formulate strategies for managing digital innovations. The course also covers the financial aspects of digital innovations, including funding and commercialisation. The course also introduces fundamental responsible IS/IT innovation framework, integrating ethical and sustainable aspects into digital innovation design. Through case studies and group projects, you will gain the skills and knowledge to drive IS/IT enabled innovation within your organisations.
