Handbook

This course will explore the key philosophies underpinning mental health care, services and systems within an Australian and International context. Students will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed care, the bio-psychosocial model and working within a multidisciplinary team, focussing on delivering least restrictive care under a recovery model.

Students will obtain an understanding of the way in which mental health services and systems are constructed and the reasons for service delivery design. Students will navigate services and systems, including beyond the formal mental health services, to support patients to holistically meet the needs of this patient group.
