Asset management failures, such as the Dreamworld Thunder River Rapids Ride disaster of 2016, drive home the importance of organisations having a systemic approach to managing their asset portfolios. This course aims to equip asset managers with the insight, organisational approaches and cultural awareness needed to ensure their organisations can make the most of their assets to deliver their organisation’s outcomes in the most efficient and effective way. Students will critically examine a series of case studies to illustrate how a systemic approach, such as the international standard for asset management (ISO55000), can make a significant improvement to organisational outcomes.
