The TRP course comprises three modules, split across three terms in a calendar year (3x6UOC): scoping and planning; implementation; and knowledge translation. There are monthly research workshops held across three terms in one calendar year. The first module, in Term 1, addresses the scoping and planning activities for a TRP study. Students are linked to academic and industry supervisors to identify a study focus. The five key tasks to complete include: devising a research plan; ensuring the study aligns with your organisational, state and national health priorities; undertaking a rapid or scoping literature review; identifying research outputs; and submitting an ethics (minimal or low risk) application. The second module, in Term 2, is directed at study implementation. This period has four key activities: reviewing and updating material from module 1; securing ethics approval; producing a data management plan; and data collection. The third module, in Term 3, is focused on knowledge translation. The major tasks include: reviewing study plans; finalising data collection; analysing data; and, the production of research outputs, that is, a research report (a draft manuscript for submission to an academic journal), presentation and poster. This is a Multi-Term Course, and students should enrol in this course in each of the three terms in a calendar year, to a total of 18 UOC.
