Handbook

This course introduces the cell as the simplest form of life, the elements essential to life and the characteristics of living things. Different cell types are compared including their structures and functions. The structures of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, their metabolism and roles in the cell including the processes for energy generation in cells. The structure of nucleic acid and its role in the processes of cell division and gene expression, and how this applies to genetic inheritance and evolution. This is a blended course. The weekly laboratory classes are delivered face-to-face and lectures are online.
