How law applies to the cyber domain is presenting increasingly acute challenges for security and military perspectives. From a military perspective, cyber is now a fundamental component of physical operational domains of sea, land, air, and space. From a security perspective, the cyber domain and cyber capabilities also present democracies with significant challenges in balancing the imperatives of security with the protection and maintenance of human rights such as privacy. This course will examine the current state of the ‘law’ – both international and domestic – as it relates to cyber as a military and security capability
