The course examines the fundamental principles of land law in Australia. Topics covered include native title, the Torrens system, co-ownership, leases, mortgages, easements and covenants. These topics are critically analysed in their historical, social, political and economic contexts. Prerequisite: Principles of Private Law (LAWS1150 /JURD7150), Contracts (LAWS1075/JURD7175) and Equity and Trusts (LAWS2385/JURD7285).
