The primary objective of this course is to introduce you to (necessarily selected) core topics in modern macroeconomic and monetary theory, as well as some topical issues in macroeconomic policy. We will first study theoretical and empirical treatments of real business cycles. It will build on the material that is taught in intermediate courses in macroeconomics. Relative to your past studies in economics, you will acquire from this course an extra layer of professional knowledge and core analytical skills in advanced macroeconomics.
