Handbook

This is a full year, 12 UOC course of study based on the development and completion of a research project. The prerequisite for entry is a Distinction average across four courses. Students must enrol in the course in two successive semesters (6 UOC each semester). The research topic will be of relevance to and counted towards the Masters program in which the student is enrolled and will be agreed in consultation with a supervisor as a Course Coordinator, and approved by the Program Authority. Applicants should approach a potential supervisor or the Course Authority with a brief research proposal. The length of the research project will be 10,000 – 12,000 words. The aim of the course is to allow students to deepen their understanding of a topic and develop critical thinking and independent research and writing skills in order to improve their prospects of acceptance into research degree programs.
