This course focuses on the development of a detailed and thoroughly researched design brief and presentation that will serve as a critical foundation for the design work undertaken for Design Studio Project B.  

This advanced level course will support you to apply design thinking, research and problem-framing skills, to the development and presentation of a detailed design brief in response to the complex issues and sustainability challenges facing contemporary society. You will work both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams to undertake rigorous and systematic research into end-users, clients and stakeholders.

Through the knowledge and experience gained in the studio-specialisations you will explore materials, processes and supply chains to support your critical engagement with relevant theory, concepts and precedents, including responsible design practices. The course culminates in the presentation of a detailed, client-focused design brief and accompanying report that provides a critical and in-depth articulation of the design context, the methodologies and methods applied, and the criteria for guiding and evaluating the design work that will be undertaken in Design Studio Project B.
