Overview

This course is the foundation core studio in the Master of Design where you will deepen your understanding of the relevance of, and implications for, design in a social and environmental context. You will engage in creative strategies that extend your abilities to develop design insights to inform design solutions and impactful design practices. Reflecting the integrated nature of contemporary design across a wide variety of fields and practices, this course introduces a transdisciplinary approach to design that will be developed in subsequent core studios. You will critically analyse your design process and outcomes to develop an awareness of the agency of design in responding to broader issues, placing design as a critical practice in a broader context.
