Handbook

This is an applied leadership course, contextualised to the contemporary environment. Delivery options include online, face-to-face (classroom) and experiential components. It will be offered as an elective course in the Full-time MBA Program.

We will provide students with a fundamental understanding of the complex nature of the contemporary business environment and the importance of strong, decisive and integrated leadership in times of crisis.

Learnings are brought to life through the use of contemporary case studies, with the course culminating in an experiential component in which students will be given the responsibilities of a fictitious company’s Crisis Management Team during a critical incident. Assimilation of course content will be put to the test in this simulation as participants deal with the emerging situation. The situation will require rapid decision-making and confident leadership in an ambiguous and rapidly evolving information environment, as well as the ability to interface appropriately with a wide variety of stakeholders – including confronting the media, employees, suppliers and the families of impacted people.
