Students who have been selected for this course will engage in an intensive negotiation training program designed to build skills in the preparation for, conduct of and review of an effective negotiation. This will form the basis of their participation in the prestigious International Commercial Mediation Competition conducted by the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris in February. The Competition materials note that: 'for academic purposes, the focus of this competition is the effective combination of client representation and collaborative problem-solving skills. It is the ICC's hope that this competition will encourage the teaching and learning of effective mediation skills so that tomorrow’s practitioners can better meet the dispute resolution needs of an increasingly cross-cultural global market’.
