This course will focus on developing an understanding of construction cost and value management theory,
and their applications in practice from the viewpoint of a construction contractor.

For value management, the topics explored include understanding design intents (objectives) for
construction projects, the process of value management and achieving value for money.
The integration of both cost and value management concepts, aims to provide students with an
understanding and appreciation of defining client objectives; and how to estimate and analyse the cost of
construction projects whilst maximising value for the client and achieving the project objectives.
