This studio-based course extends a foundation in ceramic studio practice acquired in 2000 level Ceramics courses, with a focus on supporting students to research and develop methods and approaches relevant to directions they are wishing to explore as emerging creative practioners interested in working with cermaics. Supported by an analysis of historic and contemporary forms and practices related to their individual interests, students develop a body of work that synthesizes and re-interprets their historical research, towards an articulation of the significance the practice they are developing within the context of contemporary art/design/maker discourses.
Assessment in this course includes practical studio projects, presentations and written reports.
