Description
This course provides an introduction to the principles of Marine Engineering and ship operations to enable students studying the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) to complete a marine specialisation which aligns to Marine Engineer Officer competencies. Students will be exposed to a range of system configurations and their characteristics. Key topics that may be covered include ship propulsion systems and auxiliary ship systems and equipment. This course will be delivered through a combination of specialist lectures, tutorials and seminars. The course is a hybrid course in which enrolment by students in undergraduate and postgraduate programs is permitted.
