This course introduces a range of techniques, methodologies and best practices related to materials used in Drawing and Painting. Industry terminology and standard practices are explored and then applied in a range of practical exercises.
This project-based course is broken into four modules that cover key material considerations for Drawing, Painting, Conservation and New Technologies.
Students will acquire an appreciation of the theoretical, physical and conceptual issues associated with a wide range of information that is fundamental to the establishment of a Drawing and Painting practice, including insight into the implications of using mixed media, conservation and new technologies.
